Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect to TV: Use an HDMI cable (not included) from the player's HDMI OUT to your TV's HDMI input.
  2. Connect to Audio System: For surround sound, connect via HDMI to an AV receiver or use the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) port.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the AC power cord into a wall outlet.
  4. Insert Batteries: Install batteries into the remote control.

WARNING! Ensure all devices are turned off before making connections. Do not block ventilation openings.

First-Time Setup

Power on the player and your TV. Set your TV to the correct HDMI input.

  1. Initial Setup Screen: The on-screen setup guide will appear. Select your language.
  2. Connection Type: Select your display type (TV or Projector) and screen aspect ratio.
  3. Audio Settings: Configure audio output format (Bitstream or PCM) based on your audio system.
  4. Network Setup: If connecting to the internet, follow prompts for wired or wireless setup.
  5. Finalize: Save settings. The player is now ready for use.

CAUTION! Do not move the player during disc playback.

Controls and Settings

Access the Home Menu by pressing HOME on the remote. Front Panel: POWER, OPEN/CLOSE, PLAY, STOP.

Remote: POWER, HOME, OPTIONS, NETFLIX, TOP MENU/POP-UP MENU, OPEN/CLOSE, Navigation arrows, ENTER, RETURN, AUDIO, SUBTITLE, ANGLE, DISPLAY, PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, SKIP/SEARCH.

Settings Menu: Access via HOME > [Settings]. Setup: Language, Screen, Audio, Parental Control, Network, System. Playback: Resume play, Bookmark, A-B Repeat, Slow Motion. Display: On-screen information, Status Display.

Connecting Devices

HDMI: Primary connection for HD video and audio. Optical Audio: For connection to older audio receivers. USB: For media playback.

  1. Turn off all devices before connecting cables.
  2. Use high-speed HDMI cables for best performance.
  3. For BRAVIA Sync, connect via HDMI to a compatible Sony TV and enable Control for HDMI in the player's settings.

Tip: Label HDMI inputs on your TV for easy identification.

Playing Media

Supports Blu-ray, DVD, CD, and USB media.

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label-side up, press OPEN/CLOSE again to close.
  2. Play: Press PLAY. Use TOP MENU or POP-UP MENU to access disc features.
  3. Navigate: Use arrow keys and ENTER to select items. Use SKIP/SEARCH to jump chapters.
  4. Stop: Press STOP. "Resume Stop" allows playback to continue from the stop point.
  5. Special Features: Press OPTIONS during playback for scene search, subtitle/audio selection, and picture adjustments.
  6. USB Playback: Insert USB device, select [USB] from the Home Menu, navigate to your file and press PLAY.

WARNING! Do not use damaged or irregularly shaped discs. Do not touch the disc surface.

Network & USB Features

Network: Connect via Ethernet (LAN port) for firmware updates and access to streaming services (if available in your region). USB: Playback of DivX, MP3, JPEG files. Update firmware via USB.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the player from the wall outlet before cleaning. Wipe the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. Clean discs by wiping gently from center to edge with a clean, soft cloth.

CAUTION! Never use solvents such as benzene or thinner. Do not allow moisture into the unit.
