Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place the player on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect to TV: Use an HDMI cable (recommended) to the HDMI OUT port on the player and HDMI IN on your TV.
  2. Connect to audio system: Use the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) or AUDIO OUT (L/R) as needed.
  3. Connect to network: Use an Ethernet cable to the LAN port for wired internet access (optional).
  4. Plug the AC power cord into a wall outlet.

WARNING! Ensure all devices are turned off before making connections. Do not block ventilation openings.

First-Time Setup

Power on the player and your TV; follow the on-screen setup guide.

  1. Select Language: Choose your preferred menu language (default is ENGLISH).
  2. Connect to Network: Configure wired or wireless (if model supports) network settings.

Connecting Devices

HDMI: Primary connection for HD video and audio. Audio System: Optical or analog cables. USB: For media playback.

  1. Turn off all devices before connecting cables.
  2. For best quality, use a High-Speed HDMI cable.
  3. Select the correct input source on your TV (e.g., HDMI 1).
  4. Enable BRAVIA Sync in the player's settings for single remote control.

Tip: If no picture appears, ensure the TV is set to the correct HDMI input and the player's output resolution is compatible with the TV.

Playing Discs & Media

Supports Blu-ray Discs, DVDs, CDs, and USB media files.

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label-side up in the tray, press OPEN/CLOSE again.
  2. Play: Press PLAY; use SKIP or SEARCH for navigation.
  3. Access Disc Menus: Use TOP MENU or POP-UP MENU buttons.
  4. Stop: Press STOP; resume playback later from the same point (depending on disc).
  5. USB Playback: Insert USB device, select [USB] from the Home Menu, browse and play files.
  6. Change Audio/Subtitle: Press AUDIO or SUBTITLE during playback to select available tracks.
  7. Zoom: Available for some content via the OPTIONS menu.

WARNING! Do not move the player while a disc is spinning. Use only standard-sized discs.

Network & Smart Features

BD-LIVE: Access extra online content from compatible Blu-ray discs (requires USB storage for data). Software Update: Update player firmware via network (Auto or Manual). BRAVIA Sync: Control compatible Sony TV and audio system with the player's remote.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect the power cord before cleaning. Wipe the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. Clean the disc lens only with a commercially available Blu-ray/DVD lens cleaner.

CAUTION! Never use solvents, abrasives, or chemical cleaners. Do not expose to direct heat or sunlight.
