Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place the player on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect to your TV: Use an HDMI cable (recommended) to the HDMI OUT port on the player and the HDMI IN port on your TV.
  2. Connect to your audio system: Use the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) or ANALOG AUDIO OUT to your receiver or soundbar.
  3. Connect to the network: Plug an Ethernet cable into the LAN port for internet access, or set up Wi-Fi later.
  4. Plug the AC power cord into a wall outlet.

WARNING! Ensure the player is placed in a well-ventilated area. Do not block ventilation holes.

First-Time Setup

Power on the player and your TV; follow the on-screen setup guide.

  1. Select Language: Choose your preferred menu language (default is ENGLISH).
  2. Set Display Resolution: The player will automatically detect your TV's optimal resolution via HDMI. You can adjust this in SETTINGS.
  3. Connect to the Internet: Select your network (wired or wireless) and enter your password if required.
  4. Register the Player: Follow prompts to register for Sony services and software updates.

CAUTION! Do not move the player during disc playback or initial setup.

Connecting Devices

HDMI: Primary connection for HD video and audio. Audio System: Optical or analog cables. Network: LAN cable or Wi-Fi setup.

  1. Turn off all devices before making connections.
  2. Use high-speed HDMI cables for best performance.
  3. Select the correct input source on your TV (e.g., HDMI 1).

Tip: For ARC (Audio Return Channel) functionality, connect to an HDMI input on your TV labeled ARC.

Playing Disc Media

Supports Blu-ray Disc™, DVD, and CD formats.

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label-side up in the tray, press OPEN/CLOSE again to close.
  2. Play: Press PLAY; use TOP MENU or TITLE to navigate disc menus.
  3. Stop: Press STOP; resume playback later by pressing PLAY (depending on disc).
  4. Skip: Press SKIP (forward/back) to jump chapters or tracks.
  5. Search: Press and hold SKIP or use the SLOW/FAST buttons.
  6. Audio/Subtitle: Press AUDIO or SUBTITLE during playback to change tracks.
  7. USB Playback: Insert USB device, select "USB" from the XMB™ HOME menu to play media files.

WARNING! Do not touch the disc surface. Handle by the edges only.

Network & Streaming Features

Connect to the internet to access streaming services, BD-Live content, and software updates.

  1. From the XMB™ HOME menu, select "Network" or the specific app icon (e.g., Netflix).
  2. For first-time use, you may need to activate or sign in to your account.
  3. BD-Live: Requires a USB flash drive (1GB or more) inserted in the USB port for storing extra content.
  4. Software Update: Check for updates in SETTINGS > System > Software Update.

Care & Cleaning
