Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect to TV: Use HDMI cable from HDMI OUT to TV's HDMI input for best quality.
  2. Connect to audio system: Use COAXIAL OUT or HDMI for digital audio.
  3. Connect to network: Use Ethernet cable to LAN port for BD-Live features.
  4. Connect USB device: Insert USB storage into USB port for media playback.
  5. Plug AC power cord into wall outlet.

WARNING! Ensure proper ventilation; do not block vents. Use the supplied power cord.

First-Time Setup

Power on the player and TV; follow on-screen setup guide.

  1. Select Language: Choose menu language (e.g., English).
  2. Connect to Network: Set up wired LAN connection if desired.

Connecting Devices

HDMI: Primary connection for HD video/audio. Audio System: COAXIAL for digital audio. Network: LAN for updates and BD-Live.

  1. Turn off all devices before connecting cables.
  2. Use high-speed HDMI cable (with Ethernet if needed).
  3. Select correct input on TV (e.g., HDMI 1).
  4. For BRAVIA Sync, enable Control for HDMI in player and TV settings.

Tip: For best picture, set HDMI resolution to "Auto" or match your TV's native resolution.

Playing Discs & Media

Supports Blu-ray, DVD, CD, and USB media (AVCHD, MPEG, JPEG, MP3).

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label-side up, close tray.
  2. Play: Player may start automatically; or press PLAY.
  3. Navigate: Use TOP MENU or POP-UP MENU for disc menus. Use arrow keys and ENTER.
  4. Search/Skip: Use SEARCH/SKIP buttons or numeric keys for chapters/tracks.
  5. USB Playback: Insert USB device, select "USB" from Home Menu, browse and play files.
  6. Resume: Some discs allow resume playback from stop point.
  7. Subtitles/Audio: Press SUBTITLE or AUDIO during playback to change.

WARNING! Do not use damaged or irregularly shaped discs. Do not touch the lens.

Network & BD-Live Features

BD-Live: Access extra content from the internet. Requires LAN connection and USB memory (at least 1GB) for local storage.

  1. Connect LAN cable and insert USB memory.
  2. Enable BD-Live in Network Settings.
  3. While playing a compatible BD, select BD-Live features from the disc menu.
  4. Firmware Updates: Can be done via network. Check in "System Update" under Settings.

Note: Some BD-Live services may be discontinued by content providers.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug from AC outlet before cleaning. Wipe cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, dampen cloth with water and wring well.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents such as benzene or thinner. Do not allow moisture into the vents or openings.
