Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect to TV: Use HDMI cable from player's HDMI OUT to TV's HDMI input.
  2. Connect to Audio System: Use optical digital cable from DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) to receiver (optional).
  3. Connect to Network: Use Ethernet cable to LAN port or connect wirelessly via built-in Wi-Fi.
  4. Connect Power: Plug AC power cord into wall outlet.

WARNING! Ensure proper ventilation; do not block vents. Use correct power voltage (120V).

First-Time Setup

Power on player and TV; follow on-screen setup guide.

  1. Select Language: Choose menu language (ENGLISH default).
  2. Connect to Network: Set up wired or wireless connection; enter Wi-Fi password if required.
  3. Set Display Settings: Configure HDMI resolution (Auto, 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p).

Controls and Settings

Settings Categories: Network Setup (Internet settings, BRAVIA Internet Video), Playback Settings (BD/DVD Viewing Settings, Parental Control), System Settings (Audio, Display, ECO, Language), Easy Setup (Initial setup wizard). Parental Control: Set password (default 0000) to restrict disc playback by rating.

Connecting Devices

TV: HDMI. Audio System: Optical digital or HDMI (audio pass-through). Network: Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

  1. Turn off all devices before connecting cables.
  2. Use high-speed HDMI cable (with Ethernet support recommended).
  3. Select correct input on TV (e.g., HDMI 1).
  4. For BRAVIA Sync: Connect via HDMI to compatible Sony TV; enable Control for HDMI in settings.

Tip: For best video quality, set HDMI resolution to "Auto" or "1080p".

Playing Disc Media

Supports Blu-ray, DVD, CD formats.

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label side up.
  2. Play: Press PLAY; disc menu may appear—use arrow keys to navigate.
  3. Stop: Press STOP; resume playback with PLAY (if resume feature enabled).
  4. Skip/Search: Use PREV/NEXT for chapters; fast forward/reverse with arrow keys.
  5. Audio/Subtitle: Press OPTIONS during playback to select audio track or subtitle.
  6. Zoom: Press ZOOM (if available on remote) to magnify picture.
  7. Bookmark: Press OPTIONS to add bookmark for resuming later.
  8. USB Playback: Insert USB device; select from Home Menu > USB.

WARNING! Do not use damaged or irregular-shaped discs. Do not touch disc surface.

Network & Streaming

Access streaming services via Home Menu > Network > Video & Music Services.

  1. Ensure network connection is active (check in Network Settings).
  2. Select service (e.g., Netflix, YouTube); may require account login.
  3. Use remote to browse and play content.
  4. Firmware Updates: Enable automatic updates in System Settings for latest features.

Note: Some services may require subscription. Internet speed of at least 5 Mbps recommended for HD streaming.

Care & Cleaning
