Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place the player on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect to TV: Use the provided composite cable (yellow) or component cables for best quality.
  2. Connect Audio: Use the red/white audio cables to your TV or audio system. For digital audio, connect the optical cable.
  3. Plug into AC power: Connect the AC power cord to the player and then to a wall outlet.

WARNING! Ensure the player is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation holes.

First-Time Setup

Power on the player and your TV. Follow on-screen prompts if available.

  1. Select Language: Use the SETUP menu to select the on-screen display language.
  2. Set TV Type: Configure the video output for 4:3 or 16:9 screen and for Progressive Scan if your TV supports it.
  3. Configure Audio: Set the digital audio output format (PCM or Bitstream) based on your audio system.
  4. Set Parental Control: Establish a password if desired (default may be 0000).

CAUTION! Always turn off the player and connected devices before making or changing cable connections.

Connecting Devices

  1. Turn off all equipment before connecting cables.
  2. Match cable colors to input jacks on your TV or receiver (Yellow=Video, Red=Right Audio, White=Left Audio).
  3. For Component Video, connect Green (Y), Blue (Pb), and Red (Pr) to corresponding inputs.
  4. Switch your TV to the correct input source (e.g., VIDEO 1, COMPONENT).

Playing Media

Supports DVD-Video, Video CD, and Audio CDs.

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label-side up in the tray, press OPEN/CLOSE again.
  2. Play: Press PLAY. Use the MENU or TITLE button to access disc menus.
  3. Navigate: Use Arrow buttons and ENTER to select items. Use SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀ / ▶▶) to jump chapters.
  4. Pause/Still: Press PAUSE. Use SLOW buttons for slow motion.
  5. Stop: Press STOP. Press PLAY to resume from the stop point (if disc supports resume).
  6. Repeat: Press REPEAT during playback to repeat a title, chapter, track, or disc.
  7. Zoom: Press ZOOM during playback to magnify the picture.
  8. Audio/Subtitle: Press AUDIO or SUBTITLE to change language tracks.

WARNING! Do not move the player while a disc is spinning. Do not use damaged or irregularly shaped discs.

Accessibility Features

Subtitle Display: Enable/disable subtitles via the SUBTITLE button or Setup Menu. Parental Control: Restrict playback of DVDs based on ratings in the Setup Menu (set a 4-digit password).

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the player from the AC outlet before cleaning. Clean the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a cloth lightly dampened with a mild detergent solution.

CAUTION! Never use solvents such as benzene or thinner. Do not allow liquid to enter the player through ventilation slots or the disc tray.
