Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect to TV: Use the provided composite A/V cable (yellow video, red/white audio) or for best quality, use component video cables (not included).
  2. Connect to Audio System: Use the digital optical or coaxial cable (not included) to connect to a surround sound receiver.
  3. Plug into AC power outlet.

WARNING! Ensure the player is placed in a well-ventilated area. Do not block ventilation holes.

First-Time Setup

Power on the player and your TV/receiver. Follow on-screen prompts if available.

  1. Set TV Type: In the SETUP menu, select TV TYPE (4:3 or 16:9) to match your television.
  2. Set Progressive Scan: For compatible TVs, enable PROGRESSIVE SCAN in the VIDEO settings.
  3. Set Audio Output: In the AUDIO settings, configure DIGITAL OUTPUT (PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS) based on your receiver's capabilities.
  4. Set Language: In the SETUP menu, select your preferred menu language.

Connecting Devices

For optimal performance, use the highest quality connection your equipment supports.

  1. Turn off all devices before making connections.
  2. To TV: For standard TVs, use the composite video (yellow) cable. For HDTVs, use component video cables (connect Y, Pb, Pr).
  3. To Audio System: For surround sound, connect the DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL or COAXIAL) to your receiver.
  4. Select the correct input source on your TV and receiver.

Tip: Use high-quality, shielded cables for video and digital audio connections to prevent interference.

Playing Disc Media

Supports DVD-Video, audio CDs, and MP3 CDs.

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc with label side up, press OPEN/CLOSE again.
  2. Play: Press PLAY. Use the MENU or TITLE button to access disc menus.
  3. Navigate: Use the cursor buttons and ENTER to select items. Use PREV/NEXT or numeric buttons to skip chapters/tracks.
  4. Special Functions:
    • Pause/Step: Press PAUSE; press again to step forward frame-by-frame.
    • Slow Motion: Press SLOW during playback.

  5. Stop & Resume: Press STOP once to pause; press twice to stop completely. The player remembers the stop point (Last Memory) if the disc is not ejected.

WARNING! Do not move the player while a disc is spinning. Do not use damaged or irregularly shaped discs.

Accessibility Features

Subtitle Display: Enable/select via SUBTITLE button. Parental Lock: Set in PARENTAL menu (default password may be 0000). Allows restriction of playback based on movie ratings (e.g., G, PG, PG-13, R).

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the player from the AC outlet before cleaning. Clean the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a cloth slightly dampened with water. Never use solvents such as benzene or thinner.
