Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure wall cavity meets requirements.

  1. Turn off power to the wall outlet at the circuit breaker.
  2. Prepare wall opening: Cut or verify opening for standard electrical box.
  3. Mount bracket: Secure the provided metal bracket into the wall cavity using supplied screws.
  4. Connect cables: Route video/audio cables and IR sensor cable to the unit before final mounting.
  5. Secure unit: Slide the player into the bracket and secure with locking tabs or screws.
  6. Attach trim plate: Snap the decorative trim plate onto the front to conceal edges.
  7. Restore power and test.

WARNING! Installation should be performed by a qualified technician. Ensure no live wires are present in the wall cavity. Unit may become warm during operation; allow for ventilation.

First-Time Setup

Power on the unit; the disc tray will initialize.

  1. Initial Power On: Connect to AC power. The unit will perform a self-test (LED may blink).
  2. Connect IR Sensor: Plug the included IR eye into the 3.5mm jack on the side of the unit and position it where it can receive remote signals.
  3. Connect to Display/Audio System: Use appropriate cables (Component recommended for best video quality).
  4. Configure Output: Use the remote to access the SETUP menu. Set Video Output to match your display (Component, Composite). Set Audio Output (PCM, Bitstream).
  5. Test Remote: Point the supplied remote at the IR sensor and test basic functions (Power, Eject).

CAUTION! Do not force the disc tray. Ensure all connections are secure before applying power.

Primary control is via the supplied remote control. The front panel has minimal, concealed buttons.

Remote: POWER, OPEN/CLOSE, Numeric buttons, MENU, Cursor arrows, ENTER, RETURN, AUDIO (for alternate tracks/angles), SUBTITLE, DISPLAY, REPEAT, PROGRAM, CLEAR.

On-Screen Menu (SETUP): Video: TV Type (4:3, 16:9), Output (Component, Composite), Screen Saver (On/Off).
Audio: Digital Output (PCM, Bitstream), Dynamic Range Control, Downmix.
Language: Menu, Audio, Subtitle preferences.
Parental Control: Set level and password (default may be 0000).

Connecting Devices

Video: Connect to TV/projector via Component (preferred) or Composite cables. Audio: Connect to AV receiver via digital optical/coaxial for surround sound, or analog RCA for stereo.

  1. Turn off all devices before making connections.
  2. For best quality, use Component Video (Green/Blue/Red) and Digital Optical audio.
  3. Connect the IR sensor cable to the jack on the unit and position the sensor eye with adhesive tape within line-of-sight of the remote.
  4. For system control, connect an RS-232 cable from a control system (e.g., Crestron processor) to the 9-pin port. Refer to the separate RS-232 command protocol document.

Tip: Label all cables during installation for easier service.

Playing Media

Supports DVD-Video, CD Audio, and MP3 CDs.

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE on remote. The motorized tray will extend from the front panel. Place disc label-side up.
  2. Close tray: Press OPEN/CLOSE again or gently push the tray. Playback may start automatically.
  3. Navigation: Use MENU to access disc menu, or cursor arrows and ENTER to select titles/chapters/tracks.
  4. Playback Functions: Use SKIP/SEARCH forward/back, PAUSE, STOP. Press STOP twice to return to start.
  5. Repeat/Shuffle: Press REPEAT to cycle modes (Off, Chapter, Title, All). For CDs/MP3s, press SHUFFLE.
  6. Program Play: Press PROGRAM to create a custom play sequence from disc contents.
  7. Audio/Subtitle: During playback, press AUDIO or SUBTITLE to select available tracks.

Disconnect AC power before any cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the trim plate. For the disc lens, use a commercially available CD/DVD lens cleaning disc only if playback issues occur.

CAUTION! Never use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or sprays on the unit. Do not attempt to clean the laser lens with cotton swabs or liquids.
