Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place the unit on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect to TV: Use the provided composite video cable (yellow) or S-Video/Component cables for better quality.
  2. Connect to Audio System: Use the red/white audio cables for stereo sound or digital optical/coaxial for surround sound.
  3. Plug into AC power: Connect the AC power cord to a standard 120V AC outlet.
  4. Insert batteries into the remote control.

WARNING! Do not place the unit near heat sources or in direct sunlight. Ensure proper ventilation around the unit.

First-Time Setup

Power on the unit and your TV; follow on-screen prompts if available.

  1. Set TV Type: In the SETUP menu, select the appropriate TV aspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9).
  2. Set Audio Output: Configure digital output format (PCM or Bitstream) based on your audio system.
  3. Set Language: In the SETUP menu, select menu language (default is ENGLISH).

Access the On-Screen Display (OSD) via the SETUP button on the remote. Front Panel: STANDBY/ON, OPEN/CLOSE, PLAY/PAUSE, STOP.

Remote: Numeric buttons, MENU, TITLE, RETURN, AUDIO, SUBTITLE, ANGLE, ZOOM, REPEAT, SEARCH modes.

Setup Menu: Language, Display (TV Type, Screen Saver), Audio (Digital Output, Dynamic Range), Parental Lock (default password 0000). Playback Settings: Repeat (Title/Chapter/Disc), Slow Motion Speed, Zoom Magnification.

Connecting Devices

TV: Composite, S-Video, or Component Video outputs. Audio System: Analog stereo or digital audio outputs.

  1. Turn off all devices before making connections.
  2. Match cable colors to connectors (Yellow=Video, Red=Right Audio, White=Left Audio).
  3. For best video quality, use S-Video or Component Video connections.
  4. Select the correct input source on your TV and audio system.

Playing DVD Media

Supports DVD-Video, Video CD, Audio CD, and CD-R/RW (with compatible formats).

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label-side up in the tray, press OPEN/CLOSE again.
  2. Play: Press PLAY; use numeric buttons to select title/chapter or SKIP buttons.
  3. Pause/Still: Press PAUSE during playback; use SEARCH buttons for slow motion.
  4. Stop: Press STOP; press PLAY to resume from stop point (if resume feature is enabled).
  5. Special Functions: Press AUDIO for audio track selection, SUBTITLE for subtitle selection, ANGLE for multi-angle discs.
  6. Zoom: Press ZOOM during playback to magnify (press repeatedly to cycle through zoom levels).
  7. Repeat: Press REPEAT to cycle through repeat modes (Off/Title/Chapter/A-B).

WARNING! Do not move the unit during disc playback. Do not use damaged or irregularly shaped discs.

Accessibility Features

Subtitle Display: Enable/disable subtitles via SUBTITLE button. Audio Description: Some DVDs include descriptive audio tracks (select via AUDIO button). Parental Control: Set viewing restrictions in the SETUP menu using password protection.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the unit before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior. For the lens, use a commercial CD/DVD lens cleaning disc if necessary.
