Initial Setup & Battery Installation

  1. Open battery compartment on rear of remote.
  2. Insert two AA batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close compartment securely.
  4. Remove any protective film from remote surface.

CAUTION! Use only recommended battery types. Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands. Remove batteries if remote will not be used for extended periods.

Device Setup & Code Programming

To program remote for your device:

  1. Turn on the device you wish to control (e.g., TV).
  2. Press and hold the corresponding device button (TV, DVD, etc.) until LED indicator lights.
  3. Enter the 3-digit code for your brand (see code list in manual appendix).
  4. LED turns off after correct code entry. Test remote functions (Power, Volume).
  5. If code does not work, repeat steps with next code for your brand.

Tip: Use auto-search if code is unknown: Hold device button until LED blinks, then press POWER repeatedly until device turns off, then press ENTER to save.

  4. Press and hold the desired button on original remote until Sony remote LED blinks twice.
  5. Repeat for other buttons. Press LEARN to exit.

WARNING! Learning may not work with all remotes (e.g., RF remotes). Ensure both remotes have fresh batteries.

Operating Multiple Devices

Select device mode before sending commands.

  1. Press TV button to control television functions (Power, Volume, Input).
  2. Press DVD button to control DVD/Blu-ray player (Play, Menu, Navigation).
  3. Press AUDIO for audio system (Power, Volume, Source).
  4. Press CABLE/SAT for set-top box (Channel, Guide, Record).
