Initial Setup & Battery Installation

Prepare remote for first use.

  1. Open battery compartment: Slide cover on back of remote.
  2. Insert batteries: Place two AAA batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).

  4. Test remote: Point at device and press POWER for corresponding device type (e.g., TV).

Programming the Remote

Three methods to program remote for your device.

  1. Auto Code Search:
    • Turn on device to be controlled.
    • Press and hold corresponding DEVICE button (e.g., TV) and POWER simultaneously until LED blinks twice.
    • Point remote at device and press POWER repeatedly until device turns off.
    • Press ENTER/OK to save code.
  2. Direct Code Entry:
    • Find 3- or 4-digit code for your device brand in code list.
    • Press and hold DEVICE button, enter code using numeric keypad.
    • LED blinks twice to confirm.
    • Test remote functions.
  3. Learning Function: (See Section 9)

Tip: If auto search fails, try manual code entry. Some devices may require multiple code attempts.

Operating Your Devices

Control multiple devices with one remote.

  1. Select device: Press corresponding DEVICE button (TV, DVD, etc.). LED may blink once.
  2. Basic controls: Use POWER, VOLUME, CHANNEL, MUTE, NAVIGATION, MENU.
  3. Device-specific functions: Use dedicated buttons (PLAY, STOP, RECORD for DVD; GUIDE for cable).
  4. Switch between devices: Press different DEVICE button to control another component.
  5. Macro operation: Press programmed MACRO button to execute sequence (e.g., "Watch DVD" turns on TV, switches to correct input, turns on DVD player).

Learning Function

Teach remote commands from original remote.

  1. Prepare both remotes: Place original remote and Sony remote facing each other, 2-5 cm apart.
  2. Enter learning mode: Press and hold LEARN button on Sony remote for 3 seconds until LED stays lit.
  3. Select target button: Press button on Sony remote you wish to program (LED blinks).
  4. Teach command: Press and hold corresponding button on original remote until Sony remote LED blinks twice.
  5. Repeat: Program additional buttons as needed.
  6. Exit learning mode: Press LEARN button or wait 30 seconds of inactivity.

WARNING! Ensure no strong light interference during learning. Some proprietary or RF commands cannot be learned.
