Initial Setup & Battery Installation

Prepare the remote for first use by installing batteries.

  1. Turn the remote over and locate the battery compartment cover on the back.

  3. Insert two AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) markings inside.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover by sliding it back until it clicks into place.

CAUTION! Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types. Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period.

Programming the Remote

To control a device, you must program the remote with the correct code for that device.

  1. Turn on the device you want to control (e.g., your TV).
  2. On the remote, press and hold the desired MODE button (e.g., TV) until the indicator light stays on.
  3. Enter the 3-digit code for your device brand/model from the provided code list. The indicator light will blink twice if the code is accepted.
  4. Point the remote at the device and press POWER. If the device turns off, programming is successful. If not, try the next code for your brand.
  5. For Auto Search (if supported): Hold MODE button, then press and hold POWER while pointing at device. Release POWER when device turns off.

Tip: Keep the code list handy. Some devices may require trying multiple codes.

Using Learning Function

The remote can learn commands from your original remote for unsupported functions or non-Sony devices.

  1. Place both remotes facing each other, about 2-3 cm apart.
  2. On the RMT-D111E, press and hold the LEARN button (if dedicated) or follow the manual's sequence to enter learning mode (e.g., press MODE + SETUP until light blinks).
  3. Press the button on the RMT-D111E you wish to program (e.g., a specific function key).
