Initial Setup & Battery Installation

Power on the remote by installing batteries.

Open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the remote.
Insert two AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) markings.
Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Point the remote at your Sony device and test basic functions like Power.

CAUTION! Use only fresh batteries of the same type. Do not mix old and new or different battery types. Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period.

Programming the Remote

To control your Sony device, you may need to set the correct remote code.

Auto Code Search: Turn on the device you wish to control. Press and hold the corresponding MODE button (e.g., TV) and the POWER button simultaneously until the mode light blinks twice. Point the remote at the device and repeatedly press the POWER button until the device turns off. Press the MODE button once to store the code.
Direct Code Entry: Refer to the code list in the appendix or online. Press and hold the MODE button. Enter the 3-digit code using the numeric keypad. Release the MODE button. Test the remote.

Operating Your Devices
