Initial Setup

Prepare the remote for first use.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert two AA batteries observing correct polarity (+/-).

  5. Auto-search: If code unknown, press CH+ repeatedly until device turns off, then save.

Tip: Keep original remote for reference. Write down successful codes.

Using Macro Functions

Macros automate multiple commands with one button press.

  1. Clear macro memory: Press SETUP + M1 (or M2/M3) for 3 seconds until light flashes.
  2. Record macro: Press SETUP, then press macro button (M1) to start recording. Press desired sequence of buttons (e.g., TV POWER, DVD POWER, INPUT HDMI1). Press macro button again to stop.
  3. Execute macro: Press the programmed macro button. Remote sends stored sequence.
  4. Maximum steps: Up to 20 commands per macro.

WARNING! Do not point remote away during macro recording. Ensure devices are in range.

Learning Functions

Teach the remote commands from another remote (for non-Sony devices).

  1. Place remotes facing each other, 2-3 cm apart.
  2. Press SETUP + LEARN (if dedicated) or hold SETUP until LEARN indicator lights.
  3. On RMT-D140A, press button you want to program (e.g., AUX POWER).
  4. On original remote, press corresponding button to transmit code.
