Initial Setup

Prepare the remote for first use.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment on back, insert two AAA batteries observing correct polarity.
  2. Remove protective film: Peel off any protective covering from the infrared transmitter window.
  3. Select device mode: Press the desired mode button (TV, DVD, AUDIO, etc.) to control that device.
  4. Test basic functions: Aim at device, press POWER and VOLUME to verify operation.

CAUTION! Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.

Programming the Remote

Three methods: Auto-search, direct code entry, and learning function.

  1. Turn on the device you want to control.
  2. Press and hold SETUP button until mode button blinks twice.
  3. Enter 4-digit code from code list (see manual appendix) using numeric pad.
  4. Mode button blinks twice if code is accepted; test functions.
  5. For auto-search: Press and hold device button, point at device, press POWER repeatedly until device turns off, then press ENTER to save.
  6. For learning: Press LEARN, follow prompts to teach commands from original remote.

Tip: Keep original remote for learning function and backup.

Operating Devices

Control multiple devices with one remote.

  1. Select device mode: Press TV, DVD, AUDIO, or CUSTOM button.
  2. Basic control: Use POWER, VOLUME, CHANNEL, MUTE for that device.
  3. Menu navigation: Use arrow buttons and ENTER to access device menus.
  4. Transport control: In DVD/AUDIO mode, use PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, SKIP.
  5. Input selection: Press INPUT/SOURCE to cycle through device inputs.
  6. Quick access: Press GUIDE for electronic program guide (TV mode), MENU for device settings.

NOTE: Some functions may not be available for all devices.

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when remote becomes unresponsive or backlight dims.

  1. Slide open battery compartment cover on back of remote.
  2. Remove old batteries, observing polarity orientation.
  3. Insert two new AAA alkaline batteries with correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close compartment cover until it clicks securely.
  5. Test remote operation.

Care & Maintenance

Clean with dry, soft cloth. Avoid liquids, solvents, and abrasive cleaners.

DO: Store in cool, dry place. Remove batteries if not used for extended periods.
