Installation & Setup

Unpack remote and inspect contents. Ensure all components are present.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 2 AAA batteries with correct polarity.
  2. Test remote: Point at device and press POWER to verify basic function.
  3. Select device: Press corresponding device button (TV, DVD, etc.) to control specific component.
  4. Program remote: Use auto code search or manual code entry for each device.

WARNING! Use only AAA batteries; do not mix old and new batteries. Remove batteries if not used for extended periods.

Programming the Remote

Two methods available: Auto Code Search and Direct Code Entry.

  1. Auto Code Search:
    • Turn on device to be controlled.
    • Press and hold device button (e.g., TV) until indicator light stays on.
    • Press POWER repeatedly until device turns off.
    • Press ENTER to save code.
  2. Direct Code Entry:
    • Find code for your device in provided code list.
    • Press and hold device button until light stays on.
    • Enter 3-digit code using numeric keypad.
    • Press ENTER to save; test functions.

CAUTION! Keep original remotes for learning function. Program in well-lit area.

Operating Devices

Basic operation after programming:

  4. Volume lock: Some models allow locking volume control to specific device.

Tip: Point remote directly at device's IR sensor; ensure clear line of sight.

Learning Function

To teach remote commands from original remote:

  1. Prepare: Have both remotes ready; ensure batteries are fresh.
  2. Enter learning mode: Press and hold LEARN button (if present) or special combination.
  3. Position remotes: Place original remote 2-3cm from learning sensor.
  4. Teach command: Press button on original remote, then corresponding button on Sony remote.
  5. Confirm: Indicator blinks twice for successful learning.
  6. Repeat: Teach additional commands as needed.
  7. Exit: Press LEARN button again or wait for timeout.

WARNING! Do not expose learning sensor to strong light. Some commands may not be learnable.
