Initial Setup

Prepare remote for first use.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert two AAA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Power on: Remove battery insulator tab if present; remote is now active.
  3. Select device: Press corresponding device button (TV, DVD, etc.) to set control mode.
  4. Test basic functions: Aim at device and press POWER to verify operation.

Button Layout & Functions

Top section: POWER, DEVICE SELECT (TV, DVD, AUDIO, CABLE/SAT). Center: Navigation pad (UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT, OK), MENU, GUIDE, INFO, EXIT. Lower section: Numeric keypad (0-9), VOLUME +/- , CHANNEL +/- , MUTE, INPUT, SUBTITLE, AUDIO. Special: LEARN (for learning mode), MACRO (for sequence programming), BACKLIGHT.

Backlight: Press BACKLIGHT to illuminate keys for 5 seconds.

Programming the Remote

Two methods: Auto-search and direct code entry.

  1. Turn on device to be controlled (e.g., TV).
  2. Press and hold device button (e.g., TV) until indicator light stays on.
  3. Enter 4-digit code from code list (e.g., Sony TV: 0001).
  4. Indicator blinks twice if successful; test POWER button.
  5. If not working, repeat with next code for your brand.

Auto-search: Hold device button, repeatedly press POWER until device turns off, then press OK to save.

Learning Function

Teach remote commands from original remote.

  1. Place both remotes facing each other, 2-5 cm apart.
  2. Press and hold LEARN button until indicator lights.
  3. On RMT-D149A, press button to be programmed (e.g., INPUT).
  4. On original remote, press corresponding button; indicator blinks and stays on if learned.
  5. Repeat for other buttons; press LEARN to exit.

Note: Some buttons (POWER, device select) may not be learnable.

Macro Programming

Program a sequence of commands to one button.

  1. Press and hold MACRO until indicator lights.
  2. Press macro button (M1, M2, or M3) to assign sequence.
  3. Press desired device and command buttons in order (e.g., TV POWER, DVD POWER, AUDIO POWER).
  4. Press MACRO again to save; indicator turns off.
  5. Test by pressing assigned macro button.

Tip: Macros can include delays; press PAUSE (if available) between commands.

Care & Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when remote becomes unresponsive or indicator dims.

  1. Open battery compartment cover on rear.
  2. Remove old batteries, dispose properly.
  3. Insert new AAA batteries, correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close cover securely.

Cleaning: Wipe with dry cloth; do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.
