Initial Setup & Battery Installation

Prepare remote for first use by installing batteries and selecting device mode.

  1. Open battery compartment: Slide cover on back of remote.
  2. Insert batteries: Place 2 AA batteries observing correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close compartment: Secure cover until it clicks.
  4. Select device: Press corresponding device button (TV, DVD, etc.).
  5. Test basic functions: Point at device and test Power, Volume, etc.

WARNING! Use only recommended battery types. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types. Remove batteries if not using for extended periods.

Programming the Remote

Program remote to control your specific devices using automatic code search or manual code entry.

  1. Turn on device you want to control (TV, DVD player, etc.).
  2. Press and hold corresponding device button (e.g., TV) until LED blinks twice.
  3. Enter 4-digit code from code list (see manual appendix) using numeric keypad.
  4. Point remote at device and test functions. If not working, try next code for your brand.
  5. For automatic search: Press and hold device button, then press and hold POWER while pointing at device. Release when device turns off.

NOTE: Keep original remote for learning function. Some functions may not be supported by all devices.

Top section: LCD display shows active device and mode. Device buttons: TV, DVD, CBL/SAT, AUDIO, AUX select which device to control.

Navigation: Arrow buttons (Up/Down/Left/Right), OK/ENTER, MENU, EXIT. Transport: PLAY, PAUSE, STOP, PREV, NEXT, FF, REW. Basic controls: POWER, VOLUME +/-, CHANNEL +/-, MUTE, NUMBER (0-9). Special: BACKLIGHT (illuminates display), LEARN (for learning function), MACRO (M1-M4 buttons).

Controlling Multiple Devices

Remote can control up to 5 different devices. Switch between devices using device selector buttons.

  1. Press TV button to control television functions.
  2. Press DVD button to control DVD/Blu-ray player.
  3. Press CBL/SAT button for cable/satellite box.
  4. Press AUDIO for receiver/sound system.
  5. Press AUX for additional device (gaming console, etc.).

Tip: When programming, ensure you're in correct device mode before entering codes.

Learning Function

Teach remote commands from original remotes for unsupported functions.

  1. Press and hold LEARN button for 3 seconds until LED lights.
  2. Press button on RMT-V501F you want to program (e.g., GUIDE).
  3. Point original remote at learning sensor (front of remote) and press corresponding button.
  4. LED blinks twice to confirm learning success.
  5. Repeat for additional buttons. Press LEARN to exit learning mode.

WARNING! Keep original remote 3-5cm from learning sensor. Some proprietary functions may not be learnable. Learning memory is limited to 20 commands.

Macro Programming

Program sequences of commands to multiple devices with single button press.

  1. Press and hold MACRO button until LED lights.
  2. Press desired macro button (M1, M2, M3, or M4).
  3. Press device and command buttons in sequence (e.g., TV POWER, DVD POWER, AUDIO POWER).
  4. Press MACRO again to end programming. LED turns off.
  5. Test macro by pressing the programmed M button.

Example macro "Watch DVD": Turns on TV, switches to correct input, turns on DVD player, turns on audio system, sets correct audio input.

Care & Maintenance

Remove batteries before cleaning. Use soft, dry cloth only; do not use liquids or chemical cleaners.

CAUTION! Avoid extreme temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight. Do not drop or subject to strong impacts. Keep away from water and other liquids.
