Installation & Setup

Prepare the remote for first use.

  1. Insert Batteries: Open battery compartment on back, insert 2 AAA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Remove Battery Insulator: If present, remove plastic insulator strip.
  3. Point Remote: Aim the remote directly at the infrared sensor on your device.
  4. Select Device Mode: Press the corresponding mode button (TV, AUDIO, DVD, STB).
  5. Test Basic Functions: Press POWER to turn device on, then test VOLUME and CHANNEL buttons.

WARNING! Use only specified battery type. Do not mix old and new batteries.

Programming the Remote

To control non-Sony devices or if automatic setup fails.

  1. Turn on the device you want to control.
  2. Press and hold the desired Device Mode button (e.g., TV) until the LED blinks twice.
  3. Enter the 3-digit code for your device brand (see code list in manual).
  4. The LED blinks twice if successful. Test POWER, VOLUME, and other functions.
  5. If code fails, try another code for your brand.

Auto Search Method: If codes unknown, press and hold MODE button, then press POWER repeatedly until device turns off, then press ENTER to save.

Operating Devices

Basic operation for different device types.

  1. Select Device Mode: Press TV, AUDIO, DVD, or STB button.
  2. Power Control: Press POWER to turn selected device on/off.
  3. Volume Control: Use VOLUME +/- or MUTE for audio adjustment.
  4. Channel Control: Use CHANNEL +/- or numeric keys for direct channel entry.
  5. Menu Navigation: Press MENU, then use navigation buttons to select options.
  6. Input Selection: Press INPUT to cycle through available sources.

Tip: Keep remote pointed at device's IR sensor during operation.

Advanced Functions
