Installation & Setup

Unpack the unit and all accessories. Place on a stable, level surface away from heat sources and vibrations.

  1. Connect Audio Outputs: Use high-quality RCA cables to connect ANALOG OUT to your amplifier/receiver. For digital connection, use an optical or coaxial cable from DIGITAL OUT to your processor.
  2. Connect Power: Plug the supplied power cord into the AC inlet on the rear panel, then into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  3. Insert Disc Magazine: Load CDs into the supplied magazine, label-side up. Gently insert the magazine into the loading slot until it clicks into place.
  4. Power On: Press the POWER button on the front panel or remote.

Connecting to Your Audio System

  1. To an Integrated Amplifier/Receiver (Analog): Connect the white (L) and red (R) ANALOG OUT RCA jacks to a corresponding "CD" or "AUX" input on your amplifier.
  2. To a Digital Processor/AV Receiver (Digital): Use a Toslink optical cable or a 75-ohm coaxial cable from the DIGITAL OUT jack to a digital input on your processor.
  3. Remote Control System: Use the REMOTE CONTROL IN jack to integrate with other Sony components via a system control cable.

Tip: For best analog sound quality, use high-grade, shielded interconnects and keep them away from power cords.

Loading and Playing Discs

Only use the supplied 5-disc magazine.

  1. Load Magazine: Press OPEN/CLOSE on front panel or remote to eject magazine (if inserted). Place up to five CDs into the slots, label-side up.
  2. Insert Magazine: Slide the magazine firmly into the loading slot until it is fully seated and the drawer closes automatically.
  3. Select Disc: Press the corresponding DISC button (1-5) on the front panel or remote. The unit will read the disc's Table of Contents (TOC).
  4. Start Playback: Press PLAY. Playback will begin with Track 1.
  5. Stop/Eject: Press STOP. To eject the magazine, press OPEN/CLOSE when the unit is stopped.

WARNING! Never force the magazine. Do not touch the laser lens. Do not use damaged or irregularly shaped CDs.

Playback Modes & Functions

Direct Track Access: Enter track number using numeric keypad on remote, then press PLAY.

Skip: Press >>| to skip forward, |<< to skip backward.

Repeat: Press REPEAT to cycle modes: Off > Disc > Track > All.

Shuffle (Random): Press SHUFFLE to play tracks from all loaded discs in random order.

Program Play:

  1. Press PROGRAM.
  2. Select disc number (1-5).
  3. Select track number.
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 for up to 32 selections.
  5. Press PLAY to start programmed sequence.
  6. Press CLEAR to erase program.

Display / Dimmer: Press DISPLAY to cycle time info. Press DIMMER to adjust display brightness (High > Low > Off).

Care & Maintenance

Unplug the unit from the AC outlet before cleaning.

Exterior: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, lightly dampen cloth with water. Do not use solvents.
