Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface.

  1. Connect antenna or cable: Attach cable to RF IN connector on rear panel.
  2. Connect to TV: Use RF OUT to TV antenna input, or use AV cables for better quality.
  3. Connect audio/video sources: Use AV IN jacks for camcorder or other video sources.
  4. Plug into AC power outlet.

WARNING! Ensure proper ventilation; do not block ventilation openings. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Power on VCR; follow on-screen prompts if connected via RF.

  1. Set clock: Press MENU, navigate to CLOCK SET, enter current time and date.

  1. Turn off all devices before connecting.
  2. Match cable colors to jacks (yellow-video, white-left audio, red-right audio).
  3. Set TV to channel 3 or 4 (per VCR setting), or AV input if using direct connection.

Tip: Use S-video cable for superior picture quality if TV has S-video input.

Playing and Recording

Supports VHS, VHS-C (with adapter), and S-VHS playback.

  1. Insert tape: Press EJECT, insert tape label side up, push gently to close.
  2. Play: Press PLAY; adjust tracking if picture unstable.
  3. Record: Press REC (and PLAY for one-touch); use timer for scheduled recording.
  4. Pause: Press PAUSE during play/record; press again to resume.
  5. Fast search: Use FF/REW during play for 7× speed; use shuttle dial for variable speed.
  6. Index search: Press INDEX during play to mark location; use INDEX SEARCH to find.
  7. Audio dub: Record new audio over existing video (requires blank audio track).

WARNING! Do not expose tapes to magnets, heat, or moisture. Keep tapes in cases when not in use.

Timer Programming

Program up to 8 recording events.

  1. Press MENU, select TIMER PROGRAM.
  2. Select program number (1-8).
  3. Set start/stop time, date, channel, and recording speed.
  4. Press ENTER to save; ensure VCR is powered on and tape is inserted.
  5. Check timer indicator on display; VCR will automatically record.

Note: Clock must be set correctly for timer to function. Use fresh tape with record tab intact.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning. Clean exterior with dry, soft cloth. Clean video heads using approved cleaning cassette every 50 hours of use.

CAUTION! Never use liquid cleaners or aerosols. Do not attempt to manually clean video heads; use cleaning cassette only.
