Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, well-ventilated surface.

  1. Connect to TV: Use RF coaxial cable from VCR's RF OUT to TV's ANT IN.
  2. For better quality: Connect AUDIO/VIDEO OUT (RCA) to TV's corresponding inputs.
  3. Connect antenna/cable: Attach cable/antenna lead to VCR's RF IN.
  4. Plug power cord into AC outlet.

WARNING! Ensure proper ventilation; do not block vents. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Power on VCR; follow on-screen setup prompts.

  1. Set clock: Press MENU, navigate to CLOCK SET, enter current time and date.

Recording and Playback

  1. Insert tape: Press EJECT, insert tape label side up, close gently.
  2. Record: Press REC (and PLAY for manual recording); use OTR for timed recording.
  3. Playback: Press PLAY; use SHUTTLE ring for variable speed search.
  4. Pause/Still: Press PAUSE during playback; avoid extended still mode to protect tape.
  5. Index Search: Press INDEX to mark scenes; use INDEX SEARCH to find later.
  6. Audio Monitor: Switch between Hi-Fi and linear audio during playback.

WARNING! Do not expose tapes to dust, magnets, or extreme temperatures.

Timer and Programming

Program up to 8 recording events.

  1. Press TIMER REC on remote.
  2. Select program number, enter start/end times, date, channel, tape speed.
  3. Ensure tape is inserted, timer indicator lights on display.
  4. VCR will automatically power on/off for recordings.
